## Overview
The 'Kat O An Long Tai Ping Ching Chiu' is a significant decennial festival with over 200 years of history. Believing that a dragon vein runs through the island, villagers hold this grand ceremony every ten years to pray for peace, prosperity, and the protection of their home. It is a vital occasion for villagers at home and abroad to reconnect and preserve the island's unique heritage.

## Highlights
This year's festival features the special project 'Sun and Moon Harmony: Kat O Art Tour', which bridges tradition and contemporary arts:
- **Traditional Rituals**: Including dragon water collection, 'Gam Tan Da Mo', and 'An Long' rituals, reflecting solemn Taoist traditions.
- **Contemporary Art**: Performances of contemporary folk music and modern dance take place around the main stage. Artistic installations created by artists and villagers, such as a shelter made from recycled umbrellas symbolizing women's strength and a local cat-themed treasure hunt, add a creative dimension to the festival.
- **Cultural Heritage**: The event features the revival of the near-extinct traditional Hakka snack 'Qi Lu Bing' (Peeled Oven Cake), alongside workshops for mask-making and windmill crafting, allowing visitors to deeply engage with the island's century-old fishing culture.

## Dates
The festival runs from October 11 to 15, 2026. All are welcome to join this vibrant cultural celebration on Kat O.

## Venue & Access
The event takes place on Kat O. Visitors should plan their trip via ferry from Ma Liu Shui or Sha Tau Kok Pier. Please check ferry schedules in advance due to limited island transport.

## Ticketing
This event is open to the public free of charge. We invite everyone to experience the profound traditional atmosphere and the beauty of island life.
